One of the security subjects I really get excited about includes efforts to showcase the security profession to a younger generation.

ASIS International has made great strides on that front in recent years and I find it quite admirable. 

I know their work has strengthened my resolve to put forth the effort to educate others about the industry I am so proud to be a part of.

From mentoring younger staff members, to accepting LinkedIn invites and engaging with Millennials in various online forums and social media, I can share my security background and experience, and I can learn much from them as well.  A mutual respect develops and we all win when it comes right down to it.

ASIS has awarded three Young Security Professionals with what amounts to the security experience of a lifetime with the opportunity to attend the 2014 ASIS Seminar & Exhibits in Atlanta.  The winners were provided with: Four nights hotel, Complimentary Seminar registration, A ticket to attend the President’s Reception and Foundation Night, and a Travel voucher (for up to $500).

What a great program!
